One the projects that our STEM students are at work on is documentation of the construction of a new Medical Arts building on campus. Using several UAS based methods, we’re able to provide the administration with weekly visual data of the construction”s progress by flying one of our quadcopters on the same autonomous GPS waypointed route around the site. The footage will be edited after completion to provide a timelapse video in motion of the building’s completion.
Students will also fly another of our fleet using structure from motion tools to provide 3D visualizations.
Lastly, we have installed a stationary timelapse camera on a rooftop to provide a single position recording of the work. That camera was hacked with an intervalometer script and is currently being outfitted with a microprocessor to autonomously upload the captured files to a cloud server.
